I store the PDF File on my PC. It is much easier to do lookups on the file
that is already there than to recreate the entire file. I delete the
original spool file once the PDF is created. 

Incidentally, the PDF never gets to the AS/400 DASD. I use Acrobat (not
Reader) to create the file from a Client Access printer driver. This is a
slick and pain free method to create a PDF file for most text files.
