All,

Custom Systems Corp has a product called COS (COM Offline-Shipping) that
has been
available since Release 2. The software allows you to do the following:

1. Pick Confirms - Pick inventory and place into staging location,
including batch/lot, FIFO date
integrity. Uses MAPICS AMI3G to perfom the update.

2. Ship-item - Allows for shipping of an item without pick confirms.
Supports controlled or uncontrolled
warehouses. This will actually create a shipment from a picklist. A
Picklist is required for COS to function,
but we also have the ability to generate pick lists.

3. Create shipment from Pick Confirmed order - Once all the pick confirms
are finished, this transaction
will generate the necessary shipment based on the pick confirmed items.

4. Carrier information - All carrier information that is supported is
allowed.

5. Special Charges - You can add special charges to the shipment. Either a
special charge code or you can
enter one in manually.

6. Print functions - you can print the BOL, Packing list and generate the
invoice.

7. Consolidate packing - We support the ability to do structured packing
(R4 or higher). That is, we allow you
to create containers, and place items within the containers, print a
packing list for a container. We allow for
containers within containers. We do not support multiple orders on a
shipment (YET). Once an order is packed,
that order can be quickly turned into a shipment.

The main differences between COS and MAPICS R6 support are:

1. It works from Release 3 thru Release 6
2. It is available now
3. It is real time (each transaction can be processed once entered, as
opposed to MAPICS's batch logic)
4. COS supports many more functions than MAPICS will at first release
