  • Subject: RE: MAPICS XA6 at QSECURITY level 40

Michael is 100% correct about MUI not running on security level 40 systems
in previous releases. MUI was using MI programs to manipulate the screen
I/O buffers, and these programs contain MI instructions which are "blocked"
at security level 40 and higher. MAPICS _should_ have been working with IBM
to get a "legal" interface for the MUI functions, but I don't know if they
ever have. It's possible that this has been done in XA6, but I haven't
heard whether that's the case or not.

I know for a fact that at previous releases, that if you run at sec level
40, MUI didn't work.
I don't know if they got around that problem. MUI makes calls that are
prevented at
sec level 40.
