We do a standard MAPICS backup with a post-backup call to save our
third party & custom data files. We also follow that with our nightly
programs
for booking & integrity analysis.

This works well for us, we are not 24X7, but backup near 8GB of data easily
in
a 4 hour window.

Have never done anything beyond an object restore in terms of restoration.

The MAPICS cleanup is very important to us!!!!

If you want a real debate, let's talk about NT backup strategies, or should
I say the lack
of strategies!

My 2 cents (and please don't take me seriously on the last comment!)
