Suspended batches, or even batches that are closed but not finished, will
cause the back-up to fail if you are tailored for immediate update of
inventory.
I make it a point to check for any unfinished batches before I leave for
the day and run a transaction register to close them if necessary.
The following is a MAPICS response to your question that can be found in
the MAPICS web site FAQ's:
"When tailored for immediate update of inventory management transactions
(I002 Transactions in batch mode = N) all batches must be in a finished
status before you will be allowed to run a MAPICS backup. If tailored for
batch update (I002 = Y) you can backup your files with non-finished
batches. See CAS User's Guide chapter referring to Back Up/Recover/Reorg
for more information".

Subject: Suspended Batches
Do suspended inventory batches keep the backup from running? I have heard
conflicting stories.
Thanks
