We have implemented MAPICS at an Auto Parts remanufacturer addressing the
issue of Cores (deposits) by assigning two item numbers.
12-3333 and C12-3333 which allow for two separate prices to be charged to
the end user. When Cores are returned, credit memo's are written for the
C12-3333 item and puts the core back into inventory. We wrote additional
programs to manage the assessment of the quality of the core with
appropriate adjustments to inventory and a core bank.

Hi all

We are considering implementing MAPICS in a re-manufacturing site.

The main issue is deposit management, when an item is sold a deposit is
charged
on the invoice, this is then refunded when the old item is returned for
re-manufacturing.

Does anyone have experience with using MAPICS for this style of processing,
or
know any add-on's that facilitate deposit management?

Thanks

Leigh Madden
