Subject: Mapics "Inventory Valuation" Report

>Hi Mapics ML members:

>The Mapics "Inventory Valuation" Report (AMISQ) is d1scussed in the
Inventory Management Users Guide, as follows:
>
>1. Chapter 4, Reports: Page 4-57 describes how to bring up the report menu
screen (AMISP1) to print the report; and
>
>2. Chapter 14, Report Descriptions: Page 14-63 shows a sample of the
report.
>
>This report appears to list all the Item Numbers that are in the Mapics
system at any particular time. Based on the costing method selected by the
company (Standard Cost, Average Cost or Last Cost), the report applies these
costs to the quantities on-hand to come up with valued inventory balances.
>
>I'm trying to understand how this report differentiates between "finished"
Item numbers (such as, Raw Materials, manufactured components and finished
goods) vs. "Work-in-Process" (WIP)Item numbers (such as manufactured
components and finished goods).
>
>For example, if we have an item number for a final product and let's say
that we have 10 units on hand that are presently in FG (that were completed
a while back by a closed manufacturing order) and we have 10 units that are
presently in WIP (under the control of an active manufacturing order), how
does the above Inventory Valuation report distinguish between the FG and the
WIP for these Item numbers?
>
>Both items (FG & WIP) would have to be valued at different unit rates.
Does Mapics do this on the Inventory Valuation report?
>
>If the Inventory Valuation report does not include the WIP, is there a
separate Mapics reports available for the WIP (I don't see one)?
