As far as preserving what I have with a software base, I've never been
concerned provided that I have a full set of source code on my machine. I
don't buy software from vendors that won't give me a full set of source
code or that give me that lame excuse "we escrow our source..." because in
a chapter 7 or 11 proceedings, the escrow'd source is a asset that can be
attached by creditors and that I have no recourse to if I have a
problem...

Eh, if you've got the source, you can always pickup the ball and run with
it from whatever position you find yourself in. And, why hasnt' the
MAPICS user community pooled together and started it's own set of addons?
heck, if MAPICS is still as slow as they used to be, pool your efforts and
do it yourself...BUT, I'ld to it as a side module vs heavily modifying a
existing module....saves you alot of retrofit...:)
