If the old ERP is one of the standard sets there may be conversion software
out there ... never as up-to-date as the ERP itself ... I know when we
converted to BPCS from MAPICS there was conversion software available ... not
good stuff, but better than nothing.

I do not believe that converting work-in-process is a healthy approach ...
move your inventory & master files & regenerate MRP & get new orders because
the structure of the orders will probably be quite different ... of course
your volume might be different ... we create & purge thousands of
manufacturing orders every week.

The only orders we convert are customer orders because all other kinds are
driven off those requirements & even they needed some tinkering due to
structural differences ... but most of our tinkering was due to the handling
of multiple facilities multiple warehouses etc.

When in doubt, read the manual, assuming you can find the right one.
