IFM is International Financial Management. It's a state of the art set of
modules which replace the old AP, AR, GL, and parts of FA. It has
everything your accountants ever wanted, but it's a lot more expensive and
the conversion from the old "Accounting Management" apps (what MAPICS calls
AP, AR, and GL these days) is pretty intense and requires a lot of time and
resource to do. We've purchased IFM, the plan is to implement it sometime
within the next year or so. Since you're coming from MAPICS II, it's likely
that they would have recommended upgrading to the XA versions of the old
ones first, anyway, and then converting to IFM later, so you're probably
okay with what you're doing.
