I missed the original question, but the subject seems explanatory.

We are running MAPICS II on a System36, have been for many years the way I
hear it. I have been with this company about a year now. I am in the process
of converting to MAPICS XA R4 on an AS/400 9406-620. We are having custom
changes made to MAPICS, I don't like that, but have no choice at the moment.
Will be using a lot of TCP/IP and Client Access. Major changes, including
implementing email and Internet access using Domino and Firewall on the
AS/400 as well. (Did I hear someone say something about eggs in one basket?)
This eventually will include several remote locations I have just connected
using Frame Relay. We will have to integrate information from two of those
locations, one running Dataworks on an HP/9000 and one running Symix on an
RS/6000. (Oh what a tangled web...)

I had NO AS/400 or MAPICS experience, and have had no training (woe is me
;-) ). I come from an extensive mainframe (ES/9000) background, and less
extensive PC/LAN systems. It has been interesting.

Boy I got wordy ;-)
