That all looks perfect to me. I think I vaguely remember someone else reporting problems with Ubuntu seemingly interfering with xt5250, but I don't know for sure. I know there are others on this list using Ubuntu and xt5250, perhaps someone can chime in on this?

Is there any chance that Ubuntu has a different desktop environment (i.e. not Gnome)? I'm not blaming Ubuntu or Gnome or anything, just wondering what different scenarios to test.
