That's really bizarre. Some of the characters that are output must be causing the xterm to not advance the cursor, or something strange like that.


Also, all the titles on the screen seem to have somehow been converted to uppercase. Did you do that, or is that the emulator?


I didn't change my font (since it won't change!) I don't know what font it is, but it doesn't look proportional to me.

It looks like the 'fixed' font to me. But, I wonder if it's for a different codepage than the one that I have? The invariant characters appear to be the same, but everything else shows up as "hollow boxes" or causes the alignments to get messed up.


What happens if you specify a font like the following, which forces it to use iso 8859-1?

  -misc-fixed-medium-r-normal--12-120-75-75-c-0-iso8859-1

(You may not have that exact font on your system... use xlsfonts or xfontsel to find something similar)
