That's interesting.  So you're suggesting that we don't need to map the
characters at all?  Just define the CCSID in the PDF itself?  Is there a
downside to this approach?

The mailing list strips all attachments, because they don't work in
digests or archives.  So, your only other option besides posting the
link (which worked great) would be to include the code in-line.
