I use this CCSID and it works just fine. I tested with 0.16.2 and the
current CVS version. My .tn5250rc looks like this:

esda01 {
  map=273
  font_80=-frichter-fixed-medium-r-normal--18-180-72-72-c-90-iso8859-1
  font_132=-etl-fixed-medium-r-normal-*-*-160-*-*-c-*-iso8859-1
  env.TERM=IBM-3477-FC

}

Do you get any error messages or garbled german characters?
