xt5250 background/transparency/tints -- LINUX5250

Has anyone ever managed to get a transparent or tinted background out of
xt5250? I thought about using aterm instead of xterm, but just changing the
xt5250 script to use aterm with the required arguments doesn't work.

I guess there's more to it, but it would be nice to get one over client
access!
