hey benci,

hope I understand what you want to know.

To download PTF from internet you are able to register if you know
your as400 systemname, your ibm customer number and all other information
the registration procedure is asking you for.
Then you have to wait some days and you will get a user and password.
(I'm not quiet sure if this procedure changed the last time since I tried
it.)
When you once got the user and PWD you are able to select PTF to download
from the internet.
But from this point on you are in big, big trouble ;-( , you will need
your AS400 system operator to
install the downloaded PTF unless you have the authority to "LODPTF" and
"APYPTF"
The next problem is, that the PC has to be interconnected with the AS400
via TCP/IP, because
the PTF will not be downloaded to the PC but they will be transmitted
through the PC direct to
the AS400.
There is no way to download them to the PC and to transfer the PTF to the
AS400 any time later.

Mybe try to bribe your system operator with some pint of good beer.

regards Andy
