I've FTP'd files from my Mac several times and deployed with no problems. As
long as he FTP's the files in binary mode, it should work fine. It's a
fairly straight forward protocol and there shouldn't be anything special
that needs to be done.

What I have seen is problems installing WAR and EAR files on WebSphere from
the HTTPAdmin side. I've just switched to installing from the WebSphere
console which seems to work fine. Not sure if you're using WAS or not, but
just a thought.

My colleague recently dumped WinDoze entirely, in favor of a MacBook,

It seems that he has yet to successfully upload WAR files to our V6 box.
His Mac creates them just fine, but he has to have somebody else upload
them, because somehow, every FTP client he's tried on the Mac has
somehow mangled them.

I've encouraged him to try FETCH, but he's been reluctant to use
anything that would cost him anything.

Anybody have any experience uploading WAR files from a Mac?
