I wonder if the file name contains embedded blanks or special characters?
Can you bring it up using wrklnk and see?

Above ls shows that this script is found but for some very strange
reason I can not execute it...

Hmmm ... is the scripts directory in your path?

Try changing to the directory and invoking it as './tcserver-ctl.sh'
