Anyone know a way to access the PC's computer name?

Depending on whether you setup your network "correctly" you could pull
the computer name from the reverse-dns lookup of their IP address. Of
course, this assumes they are not behind a NAT box or something similar
that changes their IP.

I'm looking for a way to read the workstation's computer name during
the
user's application log on to avoid asking the user to pick a specific
iSeries printer every time they say print.

Well, at worst, I'd think you'd ask them at log-in and remember the
value. Perhaps put it in a cookie, so once selected it's remembered for
next time too. This is also one of the _very_ few places I'd consider
using an ActiveX control. I'd build something very small that looked up
the pc name and then passed it back as if the user had entered it. If
they've got the ActiveX, less typing for them, if they don't, they'll
have to select it.
