I'm not aware of any tools that do specifically that ... but I've used external data structures (zero record PF's) to send data structure contents from RPG programs to java and back.

Basically, I use the external data structure in the RPG program as a data queue buffer layout then read the data queue in the java code and use a RecordFormatDocument to automatically parse the data structure.

The RecordFormatDocument is constructed using a RecordFormat retrieved from a AS400FileRecordDescription based on the external data structure file.

This makes it quite easy for Java code to adapt to changing data structure contents without having to deal with new fields and changed lengths.

Keep an eye on the IMHO blog (http://imho.midrange.com) for an example in the next few days.
