I opened an incident with IBM who confirmed that jt400.jar is doing reflection in version 6.2. They asked me to try version 6.0 of the toolkit thinking that version did not use reflection but I got the same error. I sent that back to IBM but also wondered what version you, Paul or David are using in the applets you have created. When 6.0 didn't work I was looking for an even older version. Would any of you have an older version you could send out?

Thanks

Well it didn't take as long as I though. The error was on reflect permissions so I added this grant clause to the local policy file and it worked

permission java.lang.reflect.ReflectPermission "suppressAccessChecks";

I love it when emails cross in the ether.

Yes, the policy file is one of your options. Remember, this option
requires that you set this policy on every PC that the applet might run.
