Maybe I'm missing it, and perhaps I misread your article, but can you do
OPM development w/RDi? As I understood it, RDi == ILE and ADTS == OPM.
It's not even that they're forcing you to choose an IDE, but they're
forcing you to choose a programming environment (OPM vs. ILE). Did I
misread that?
No, I didn't say anything like that. RDi will edit any type of source, it doesn't care. The OPM RPG editor has fewer features, but it still works just fine.

There are two versions of the compilers, though: ILE and "heritage". If you want to compile OPM programs, you'll need a license for the OPM compilers. If you want ILE, a license for the ILE compilers. If you want both, you have to buy both (and pony up about $3000 a seat). If you were on the fence about ILE, this will giev you an opportunity to make up your mind. For those with mixed environments, it's a great argument to move the last OPM code to ILE - it will actually save you money!
