Anytime I've compiled things its been from QSH on our iSeries. I believe
we have the Java 1.4 toolbox installed since we're on V5R4.

That's not good. At this point I would suggest to restore your back up of
your compiled classes.

After you do that, please compare the source date versus the compile date.
Sounds like somehow the original source code was modified, so re-compiling
may break things.

Also, please let me know what is the rationale to re-compile your code,
and please also let us know the command line you're using to recompile
your code.

Finally, please provide your java version and your operating system
version.

Thanks!

Luis

question

Luis -

I read your reply yesterday, but wasn't clear on what you suggest that I
do. We're getting all sorts of Java errors these day and they're things
that haven't been touched in a year. We must have at least three
different errors going on right now.

NullPointExceprtion <- last compiled 7/21/05
NoSuchMethodError <- recompiled 12/07 and just last night
"java.io.FileNotFoundException: Resource busy. <- last compiled 1/14/06

Three different errors in three different classes.

I appreciate your help.

IMHO, I don't think that you have to recompile the other programs, and I
don't think that signing out and back in does anything for you.
