I knew it! The quickest way to find something in Google is to send an email
to a mailing list and the next Google search you try reveals the exact link
you wanted :-) [shaking head]

I found it here: http://java.sun.com/products/archive/index.html

At least it is in the archives now.

Subject: Crap! Java 1.3 - Where to download?

I am working on some *old* Java code that requires JRE 1.3.x to run - or at
least I can't get it to run in JRE 6.x and my suspicion is that it has to do
with the JRE version because I can run it in WDSC just fine when I compile
the code to JDK 1.3 (btw, is IBM using their JVM or do they actually install
JDK 1.3 with WDSC?)

So here's my problem, Sun has finalized the EOL for 1.3:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/download.html

Anybody know where a guy like me could download 1.3? Anybody have it on
their HD that could FTP it to a private server for me to download?
