Hi all,

I have a product I have written in the J2EE realm that I need to have
certain features of the application able to be turned on and off. For
instance, we have simple and advanced reporting capabilities in the software
and I am looking for ideas on how to turn on/off the advanced reporting
capabilities.

Now I realize this is not Java specific as most software products have this,
but I need a Java specific solution as that is the language/environment I am
dealing with. I have thought of using things like .properties files to
store a name value pair; the name being the feature and the value being some
sort of a key (encrypted of course).

What are some best practices of doing this that others could share?

TIA,
Aaron Bartell
