I have an article coming out in the June http://www.ibmsystemsmag.com
newsletter describing how to interface Sun's JavaMail API's from RPG. I
think they send out the newsletter mid month but am not for sure.

In the meantime you can check out an older version of RPGMail that doesn't
have the Java source (I will be adding it after the article is published)
here: http://mowyourlawn.com/html/RPGMail.php

Scott Klement has also done some articles on Jakarta's POI Java classes
being interfaced from RPG. You can read about it here:

Subject: Calling a Java pgm from RPG

Hi guys,

I have a java .class file in /testdir. I want to invoke that class file from
RPGILE.
The java pgm accepts 2 parameters and I should get the value back to RPGILE
pgm...
Can anyone provide me detailed steps to execute this...?

Thanks & Regards,
Ramprasad V
