Hmmm.  I didn't realize you were on v4r4 but I went back and read your
original email and I see that now.  I do believe that the toolbox classes
were in the system classpath with v4r4 according to that link.  To make
sure, in your java code just include the following:

Enumeration e = System.getProperties().propertyNames();
while (e.hasMoreElements())
{
  String prop = (String) e.nextElement();
  System.err.println(prop + '=' + System.getProperty(prop));
}
