can you explain more about your comment?

I was thinking Applet UI is more powerful.  Legacy system will only be access 
by user within the company.

I think you would be crazy to write an applet based UI.

MVC is always a good idea.

does anybody ever attempt to redesign their RPG base legacy system to use
MVC design pattern with applet as the UI?  If so, any regret?
