Quoting from "iSeries Performance Capabilities Reference - Version 5, Release 2
- January 2003" :

 - "These measurements were done on the Model 800, a 300 CPW machine, which is
the IBM recommended minimum for WebSphere Express."

 - "additional tests have been performed against a Model 270-2248, which is a
150 CPW machine. These tests, in Figure 6.9, proved that it is possible to run
Express on this machine, with cautious planning."

Another source of info could be here :

http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/software/websphere/wsappserver/product/PerformanceConsiderations.html

I was (...) running a Tomcat on an 800 box, V5R2, with 800 CPW free and the max
peak cpu is around 70% for CPU-intensive task.

I'd personally prefer not to run WAS under 500 CPW and 1 GB RAM, without
reading thoroughly the beforementioned references ... and crossing my finger.

Best regards,

    Davide
