Assuming you have the proper permissions, you can also enable Journaling through the Ops Navigator ... that should be installed if you have Client Access installed.

Simply right-click on a table and go to "Journaling..." you'll need to specify the journal file and the library its in.

Good luck!

Hi!

The problem is that I don't have direct access to the AS400.
I created my tables using a Java servlet which is connects to the database and executes all the required sql statements.

The easiest way for me to solve this issue would be to send the command/s for journalling to a person
who has access to the 400 and can try it out.
What are the commands that need to be executed?

Thanks.

Hi,

easiest way is ito start with CREATE SCHEMA and then run your sql scripts to create your tables etc. Anything with journaling is happening automatically this way.

Hello!

I am a Java programmer and came across the SqlException 7008 when I
deployed some code on the AS400.
After some research, I found out that this is happening because the

files

are not journalled.
How do I journal the files?

Thanks.
