Question about freeing the temp objects created when calling Java from RPG

Hi,
This is the sequence in which i call the methods in
RGLE
 call CL to set classpath
 create the Java object
 call the method in java object
 eval      JNIEnv_P = getJniEnv() to get the JVMEnv
 callp     freeLocalRef(JNIEnv_P :bdnum) freeing the
temp object
But some how it does not work
I know it does not work because i create a temp file
in my QDLS (file.deleteOnExit();) 
so when my java object is garbage collected this file
must be deleted, 
but it does not work..the file is present untill the
user signoff from AS400, and then the file is deleted
What wrong am i doing
