Gary,

I am reasonably certain I have used the JTOpen
version (jt400Native.jar) with the 1.3 JDK on 5.2.
If you are going to use the db2_classes.jar, you
might try loading it from the UserData tree so that
you pick up any PTFs. You would set
java.ext.dirs=QIBM/ProdData/Java400/jdk13/lib/ext:/QIBM/UserData/Java400/ext

You should be able to pick your own paser by setting
java.endorsed.dirs to point to a directory containing
your prefered parser like xml-apis.jar and
xercesImpl.jar. I had some problems with that one but
it seems to be working now.

A friend just installed v5r2 and is using JDK 1.3.

However, the version of db2_classes.jar in
/QIBM/ProdData/Java400/jdk/ext
supports only JDBC 3.0 which requires JDK 1.4 for, among other things,
the
java.sql.Savepoint interface.

Is there a version of db2_classes.jar, or the classes therein, that can
be
used with JDK 1.3? I can't seem to find it.

Thanks,
Gary
