I agree with you. Maybe IBM sales man just want sale a new machine and claim
that old model does not even run on the old model.

I have a 510-2143 with a half gig of memory at v5r1. I don't really use
Java, so the only comment I can make is that when I start the *ADMIN
HTTP interface, the job goes JVAW, which I assume is the loading of the
JVM, for about four minutes. Of course, when you're waiting for it,
those four minutes last forever. It seems to me that, unless you run out
of disk, the 400 isn't usually a machine where something "won't run." It
might run slow, though!
