Hello Ashish,

I am working with WebSphere 3.5 with both platforms. I can't advise you
about new versions, but I can tell you some differences between
Windows2000 and AS4000 platforms in WebSphere.

You know , you have to configure the same applications and resources in
both platforms through the WebSphere Console.

The major difference is the configuration of the datasource, because in the
AS400 you should use the native driver and in Windows 2000 you must use the
net driver. ( In AS400, WebSphere Version 3.5 the installation process
configures the DataSource with the native driver)

The best solution is configure the Name Datasource with the same name in
both platforms, thus your servlets will find the datasource in both
platforms.

I have the same datasource name in both platforms, and I have no problems
in running my servlets in both platforms.

Hi,
I have been developing a web application for a long
time with websphere on windowsNT/ Windows2000, I
started with websphere 4.0 and then migrated it to
webphere5.0
Now the client wants to migrate to AS400 as the
database we use is DB2 on AS400 and most of the
busniess logic is in RPG and RPGLE, So it makes sense
to run websphere on AS400
But the problem is of migratinon, although java is
write once, run any where, it wont be the same running
my webapplication on AS400,
So how do u people think I should go about it,
I am using JT400 3.1 version,
The first thing that comes to my mind is using the
native drive for JDBC.
althought i am pretty much familiar with AS400 and RPG
never worked on websphere on AS400, where can i get a
book or info about it.
Also is JDK1.4.1 available on AS400 with websphere5.0
Any one used websphere express on AS400, any
suggestion about the performance of websphere on AS400

Any suggestions please
