That's because it IS old and tired. Far moreso than even COBOL or
FORTRAN. And
the fact that antiquated languages like RPG have flourished for
so long, and
that a hacker's language like C has not only survived, but was
the basis for
Java, while PL/I is largely forgotten, has never ceased to
gall me.
