Sorry if I didn´t get you right, you mean I establish a TCP/IP socket
connection to AS400 and call the Cobol programs from my J2EE server as
external stored procedures using JDBC ?

Hi,

register the cobol programs as external stored procedures to the database
(CREATE PROCEDURE from a sql prompt) and call this procedures via jdbc.
