Re: WebSphere on NT vs. AS/400

If you guys have the funds, I'd invest in a DSD and move the Domino servers
off to that. Especially if you're going to run the Domino HTTP stack. We
have one Domino HTTP server running on an 8-way 830, and it can spike up
15% of the CPU time when it gets busy. I can only imagine the hit of
running 6 of them on a 720.

Sorry lads!

Intention is to load WebSphere on a Win2000 machine TEMPORARY. This
allows us to completely remove and reinstall WAS355SE on our 720.
We would do this to be sure we have a clean, nice, good functioning WAS...

Before doing this, I wanted some opinions about this because I still have
some reservations about the workload on the system:
        IBM HTTP server
        WAS355SE
        DOMINO 5.09
with 6 servers installed in separate pools
              with 6 http server-, 6 admins-, 6 pop3-, 6 smtp-, 6
qnninsts-, 6 routers-, 6 replica- and amgr-jobs active
        Native Apps
        Around 3000 jobs active

Taking off Domino now is not an option. We ported it from NTserver to
AS400 because of too much problems and NOT reliable! On the AS400 we also
had the possibility to split the Domino envy to 6 servers. In case of
problems we don't have to shut down the complete Domino envy anymore.
