One more idea.

Do a WRKLNK
'/qibm/userdata/Java400/SystemDefault.properties'

Put a 8 by it to display the attributes.

What is your "Coded character set ID"?

Mine is 37.

If yours is not 37, try deleting the file, create the
file on your PC, copy it to the AS/400.

Thanx, PLA

How about the authority on the directories that the
SystemDefault.properties is in?

I have *PUBLIC *RX on all of them.

Hmm. How are you running the java program? If you're
running it from QSH, you will need to end QSH with F3, then
come back in and try it. That is the only thing I can think
of right now. It works for me just fine. I can't recall
doing anything else.

  Thanx, PLA

  Hi

You can make your system default to your time zone
  by adding the following line:

  user.timezone=EST

  to the following file:

  /qibm/UserData/Java400/SystemDefault.properties

If the file does not exist, create it and edit by issuing
the following OS400 command from the Command Entry
display:

  EDTF '/qibm/UserData/Java400/SystemDefault.properties'

  Thanx, PLA
