Reset by peer means the link no longer works because of an action outside
of the client JVM. Toolbox tries to send data via the socket but the other
end of the connection is no longer open. This can happen if the server job
ends abnormally, or if something in the path between the client and server
kills the connection. From the little bit you posted my guess is second
case. Do you have a router or a setting on the client or server that
resets (ends) connections that are not used for 30 minutes?

I am using toolbox on a Linux to access db2 on iSeries. In my servlet I
keep
the connection up all the time. If I let the servlet idle for 30 minutes,
then the next time I access it the following statement will fail:

   pstmt = connection.prepareStatement(sqlStatement);

 The error message is: java.sql.SQLException: Internal driver
error.(Connection reset by peer: Connection reset by peer)

 What is the remedy?

 Thanks

Bruce
