I thought the native driver did that automatically if no user id and
password was provided on the connection.  You might need to specify the
database URL as jdbc:db2:*local but its been too long since I last did this
and I don't remember.

The Toolbox driver does it too if it is running on the host but only if you
run the right modification level and connect to a host at VRM430 or above
