Thanks David for the Cup and BCEL links. I will have to look into them to
see what they are.
We need to have a way of presenting contents on the web in HTML/PDF/WAP,
Cocoon seems to provide some opportunities. But right now I am concentrating
on using Fop to format reports. Having programmed DDS/PRTF reports for a few
years, I found Fop very friendly and powerful. And I can run reports on any
database, as long as I can get the data in a simple XML structure.
I am using Fop.20.1 with xalan.2.2.D9 and xerces 1.4.2. So far so good.

Bruce,

I found java_cup at:

http://www.cs.princeton.edu/~appel/modern/java/CUP/

and BCEL at:

http://bcel.sourceforge.net

I have not had much great success using newer version of Xerces, Xalan, and
FOP with Cocoon 1.8.2. When I tried it was back with version 1.3, Xalan
1.3, and FOP .17. I have had good success with Cocoon2, Xerces_1_4_2,
Xalan_2_2_D9, and FOP.19. The biggest changes have happened in FOP, which
is now up to .20.1, which I have not looked at yet. With .15, you cannot do
much with headers and footers. Also, a lot of progress has been made with
padding and spacing.

What are you doing with Cocoon? I am just curious. I used it mainly to
produce single source HTML/PDF reports distributed over the web. My
understanding is that Cocoon2 will have a beta version out soon, which
should attract some interest.

David;

Please give me the URLs for javaCup and BCEL packages. Thanks.
When I got Cocoon I get xalan and xerces of some versions. when I got Fop I
also got xalan and xerces of some versions. Download of JAXP from Sun also
includes xalan and xerces (this package is proboblly never nessecery).
I wonder if I can simply get newest xalan (2.2.D9) and the xerces that comes
with it and use them to replace those in Cocoon and Fop? (cocoon 1.8.2
includes older version Fop 0.15.0)
