Check out
http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/toolbox/faq.htm#faqV. The FAQ
has information on the "connection features" of applets. The applet
environment is so secure that it is hard to do useful work in an applet.

Apologies in advance if this is a stoopid question, I'm new to this Java
stuff...

I've written a Java Application, which uses JDBC to get some data from an
AS/400, and it works OK.

When I try to run the same code in an Applet, I get a error - "access
denied
(java.net.SocketPermission myAS400 resolve)" when testing with
AppletViewer.

Is what I'm doing impossible, due to the restrictions on Applets?
If not, what do I need to configure to get it to work?

Thanks in advance
Chris.
