Re: Adding String functions?

You cannot extend the String class, as it is final.  The reason it's final is 
so that the compiler can do all sorts of great optimizations.  However, there's 
nothing stopping you from creating a wrapper class around the String class that 
exposes the String methods as well as adding your own.
