I agree with your points. I was trying to keep it as close to the original
code as possible in order to emphasize the casting issue. Another standards
issue is that isXXX is normally used as a method that returns a boolean.

I hope this was just a simple example.

You really want to encapsulate the fact that your
'MyClassList' has any particular implementation in
it.

In your small example, any users of MyClassList
know and use the Vector it contains. (This is
sort of pointless, they might as well just
use the vector directly. 8-)).

The MyClassList needs to provide a "public MyClass get(something)",
that way the get() method handles all the details and
you can change it to use a different underlying
implementation or contained objects at any time.
