Might want to cut and paste the HTTP config file...

Hate to ask a stupid question but you didn't actually say so...

You WERE running other Java and servlet stuff on the AS/400
successfully before this particular failure started, right?

Just checking... 8-)

Did you check any of the log files? Perhaps the classpath
includes things on your PC/Tomcat installation that
aren't present in the default classpath of the IBM HTTP
server on the AS/400.

Subject: Error 5 on API - Java Virtual Machine could not be found

I've been experimenting with servlets that access AS/400 information and
display it in my browser. Running the servlet under Tomcat on my PC works
fine.
In theory, I should be able to move the class files to the AS/400 and run
them under IBM's HTTP server. However, when I submit the form to run the
servlet, the browser just sits there waiting. Looking at the joblog for the
HTTP server instance shows the following message.

 Message ID . . . . . . : CPDB520 Severity . . . . . . . : 40
 Message type . . . . . : Diagnostic

 Message . . . . : Error 5 detected on application programming interface.
Cause . . . . . : An error was found on the application programming
interface (API) request. The error code is 5. The error codes are
defined
   as follows:
03- An API parameter is not valid.
04- The current thread is attached to another Java Virtual Machine.
05- The Java Virtual Machine could not be found. It was never created
or
   has been destroyed.
06- Insufficient application storage exists to return the requested
data.
07- A Java Virtual Machine cannot be created in a job that allows only
one
   thread to be started.
08- The classpath is not valid.

Any ideas where my JVM went? Thanks in advance!
