We have established a DTD and a single servlet that allow us to have any
Web application pass an XML message that requests execution of any stored
procedure (e.g. RPG program) , passing input parameters and getting a
status code and usually a result set back, and formatting and returning a
reply XML message.
This just uses the version of XML4J that comes with WebSphere App Server
3.0.2, and it wasn't complicated to do at all. Be encouraged!

what I am looking for is
as400 rpg program -->>java servlet or jsp-->>xml-->>microsoft applications
(
asp )-->>web

i know that we can simply say as400 rpg -->> web
or
as400 rpg -->>jsp -->> web

but I really need to use XML so that this data can be shared by any other
applications.

let me know if anyone has implemented this:

We're useing xml fairly extensivly here for various
things. So far, the best api we have found is the JDOM
api. You can get the specs at www.jdom.org.
