We usually call our RPG programs via stored procedure definitions in SQL.
Then you can use any JDBC driver, *including* DB2 on those platforms for
which it is supported - e.g. AS/400. The DB2 JDBC driver (which uses DRDA
for its distributed SQL processing) supports SNA as well as TCP/IP
connections between AS/400s, but I do not know if it does so on all other
platforms.

So the question is, can you get a DB2 JDBC driver that will work, with SNA,
in your PC server environment? There may well be one shipped with UDB on
NT, but I don't know whether it would support SNA. There are certainly IBM
or third party DB2 drivers for the Windows platform available on various
sites on the Web, but again I don't know if any of them support SNA.

This DB2 driver just provides JDBC support, it doesn't give the record
level access that the TCP/IP-only Toolbox does, unfortunately.

I expect someone else on the list will be able to help with this...anyone
using a DB2 driver on a Windows platform?

Hi,
I try to make a connection from my java program in PC server to AS/400 box.
The problem that I face is I try to use SNA-APPC protocols beside of
TCP/IP.
Here is the questions:
1. Is there any other way to call AS/400 program beside using ProgramCall?
Does IBM also provide some class that is used like ProgramCall but using
APPC?
2. If I want to use DDM features in my java programming, is it possible? Or
is there any way beside using JDBC?
Any idea about those problem?
Thanks in advance.
Hendi
