  • Subject: RE: AS/400 Toolbox for Java: SpooledFileViewer?

From the setup section of the Toolbox programmer's guide:
     Note: SpooledFileViewer, PrintObjectPageInputStream, and
     PrintObjectTransformedInputStream classes work only when
     connecting to V4R4 or later systems.

When I try to view a spooled file on a v4r3 machine, I get a popup saying
that level of AS/400 is not supported. Make sure you register an
ErrorDialogAdapter so you get error popups.

The spooled file does exist. After having created the SpooledFile Object I
used the
getIntegerAttribute() to retrieve the number of pages... which was correct;

Somewhere on the Hursley site I found that 5769SS1 Option 8 (AFP
Compatibility Fonts)is
needed on the system to get the SpooledFileViewer running; so installed
this. No change for the problem afterwards...

I'm running V4R3. Is there anything else I can check?

It looks right, Two things though. Are you sure the
spooled file you specified exists and the stament.
splfv.loadPage();
is not needed.
