So, where to I GET 5769AS3? Is it a chargeable product? I thought the
advanced edition cost $$ but the standard was free. Do I order it from my
IBM Business Partner? We have the software subscription; do you happen to
know if its covered?
It is a free product. You should be able to order it through your business
partner or through IBM Direct (1 800 426-2255). See
http://www.as400.ibm.com/products/websphere/news/package.htm#SE302 for
packaging/ordering info.

Finally, can I squeeze out a comment on V2 vs V3 for the beginner from
someone? :)
V3 is definitely different from the administration point of view from V2.
However, it is considered to be improved in stability/usability by some.
Also it supports JSP .91 and JSP 1.0 as well as the 2.1 servlet API. I
would suggest starting with V3 so that you don't go through the trouble of
learning V2 and then have to make another adjustment when you upgrade to
V3.

On another note, be sure to consult the documentation, and the FAQs
database, which you will find off of this link:

Frances,

Thanks much for that clarification. What a let down that would have been
to
reinstall the PTF package a second time tonight to no avail, only to have
to
reapply it yet a third time after I finally got it right and installed the
product! Since you were kind enough to reply, here are some more questions
you or someone else can perhaps answer:

Thanks again for the stating was apparently obvious to everyone but me.
Somehow, since a PTF group magically transformed V1.1 into V2, silly me I
assumed another PTF would magically add V3--although I had read that they
could co-exist.

P.S. Apologies to all for the earlier unintended Out-Of-Office Broadcast.
I
dropped and resubscribed under our new mail system so I could send a
message. Having just looked at the Out-of-Office-Assistant in Outlook, I'm
not sure if it IS possible to construct a rule that would prevent an
initial
response. Hopefully, it won't happen again.

Answer 1. No. V3 is a different product than V2. The product to
install for V3 is 5769AS3 (5769AS1 is the product for V2).
